About PayPal Fee Tools: Who Runs It, How Rates Are Verified
Last updated:
PayPal Fee Tools is an independent site that answers one question for people who sell online: how much of a payment will I actually receive? It started with the PayPal fee calculator and will add calculators for other platforms sellers use, one at a time, as each is verified.
Who runs it
The site is built and maintained by a solo developer who sells online and got tired of guessing at fees from stale blog posts. It is not a company and has no staff. You can reach the person behind it through the contact page.
Why it exists
Most fee calculators online show rates that were right when they were written and never updated. Platform fees change every year. We wanted a calculator that shows you the date its numbers were last checked, links every rate to the official page it came from, and does the reverse calculation correctly to the cent. That is the whole product.
How the data is kept honest
Every rate on this site is transcribed by hand from the platform's own fee page, stored in a data file with the source link and two dates: when the platform last updated its page and when we last compared our file to it. We re-check at least every quarter and whenever a platform announces a change. The data sources page lists every source and explains the rounding rule.
Independence
PayPal Fee Tools is an independent site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by PayPal Holdings, Inc. PayPal is a trademark of its owner.
The site is funded by advertising. Ads never influence which rates are shown or how they are calculated.
